Everyone is different. Some common, felt experiences are that of subtle pulsation, warmth, tingling, emotional release, and deep relaxation. Though less common, some people see colors. After your session, you may feel a sense of lightness in body and mind and a general sense of well being.

My studio is located in Durham, NC, near Brier Creek, centrally located between downtown Durham, Raleigh, and Cary.

You should wear whatever you’re most comfortable in. Reiki is performed fully clothed, so I do not suggest bulky or drapey materials. Minimal jewelry is recommended. I have blankets available for additional comfort or if you become cold.
-
No. Reiki is universal energy and is not affiliated with any religion.
-
When you arrive, I will offer a cleansing with Palo Santo, but you are welcome to decline if you are sensitive to smoke. I sometimes use a lavender essential oil at the end of the session, but will ask if you prefer not ahead of time. Other than this, I only use natural products for cleaning and personal care and there is nothing Glade plug-in-esque on the property.
-
Yes. While I generally use light touch, if you would prefer, Reiki can be effectively performed with hands slightly above your body. Please let me know on your intake form or when you arrive that you’d prefer hands-off Reiki.
-
This is completely individual. You are welcome to see me once, or on an ongoing basis depending on your needs and goals.
-
Yes. Reiki energy is not limited by time or space. It can be shared and received across any distance. Just as you can feel love, prayer, or intention from afar, Reiki works in a similar way. Many people report experiencing the same relaxation, emotional release, and energetic shifts from distance Reiki as they do in person. The effectiveness depends less on physical proximity and more on the openness of the recipient and the practitioner’s focus.

To prepare, simply create a quiet, comfortable space where you can relax without distractions. You may want to dim the lights or have a blanket nearby. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and avoid heavy meals or alcohol beforehand. There’s nothing specific you must do. The most important thing is to come with an open mind and a willingness to receive. As for location in your home, clients often choose to lie comfortably on their sofa or bed. I can also bring my treatment table along if you would prefer.
-
Yes. There is a small step up at the threshold which I can help you with, but my studio is on the first floor.

I generally offer one Reiki course for each level (1, 2, and Master/Teacher) per season. If you don’t see dates on the top banner of this site, feel free to contact me. I sometimes wait until I have enough participants so that I can coordinate schedules.
-
Yes, however because Reiki is unregulated, there are a wide variety of courses available, both online and otherwise. Many of these courses do not provide adequate education and instruction. To ensure that participants are able to get the most from the course, you must be able to demonstrate appropriate competency and fluency in order to enroll in Master/Teacher training with me.

A Sound Healing session is more individualized. Instruments may be placed around or near your body, and specific tones are used with intention to address areas of imbalance. In my sessions, I also incorporate Reiki, which channels universal life force energy alongside sound. This creates a layered healing experience that works on both the energetic and vibrational levels, offering deeper alignment and restoration.
-
I work largely intuitively and my sessions are personalized, so no two are alike. Some of the instruments we have to choose from are crystal singing bowls, Koshi chimes, various other chimes, rain sticks, chakapa, tongue drum, handpan, kalimbe, a gong, hand drums, djembes, crystal triangle, Kailani, crystal harp, bells, and more. I also sometimes incorporate tuning forks.
